Miriam Adhanom

Miriam Adhanom is a current PhD student in Ethnomusicology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was named a prestigious Eugene V. Cota-Robles Fellow. She is a graduate of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB with a B.M. in Vocal Performance and Music Education. During her time at CSULB, she was named a Bob Cole, Jenkins, and Pritchard Scholar, as well a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow studying music in East Africa.  

 

Miriam enjoys a versatile background as a vocalist, scholar, and educator. She has sung for the Walt Disney Company, Grammy-winning choral groups, pops orchestras, and gospel choirs, both as a soloist and ensemble member. She has sung in venues across the U.S., including the Hollywood Bowl, the Peacock Theater, the Honda Center, and more. Miriam performs under the stage name “Miriam Rahwa.” She has taught at the All-American Boys Chorus in Santa Ana and North Orange County Conservatory of Music, and maintains an active private voice and piano studio.
