Mayuri Vasan

Indian-American mezzo-soprano Mayuri Vasan is a rising singer from Los Angeles. She is a graduate of the University of Miami with her Master of Music in Opera Performance. She has performed the roles of Maestra della Novizie in Suor Angelica, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, and has covered the role of Gertrude in a production of Roméo et Juliette with Independent Opera Company. She is currently a staff singer and soloist with the Long Beach Camerata Singers and the Catalyst Chamber Ensemble and she also sings with Pacific Chorale and Tonality. Mayuri has been a part of the educational outreach program at LBCS, Camerata Children’s Music Academy, for many years and loves being part of an initiative to help spread the joy of music. Her credits in session work include singing in Disney Epcot Center’s show Harmonious and Marvel’s tv show, Ms. Marvel. She is currently performing for Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure. Additionally, Mayuri is an accomplished South Indian Classical (Carnatic) music singer. She performs regularly in India during the annual music festival in Chennai during the winter and has given concerts around the country. She has also given many concerts in the US and continues to tour the country singing for various programs. Mayuri loves getting to use her skill in both styles of music to create magic in her art and advocate for musical diversity.
