Matthew Ian Welch

Matthew Ian Welch (AGMA, SAG-AFTRA) is an award-winning singer of classical and contemporary music. A repeat veteran of LA Opera’s Connects program and the Pacific Opera Project, Matthew is neither subtle nor afraid to make a fool of himself in front of audiences. He is committed to supporting new works, and has originated or premiered many pieces by multiple composers living in Los Angeles. As an actor, Matthew has produced multiple audiobook projects and been featured in commercials for Dodge, GMC, and Porsche and has been nominated for (or won) multiple awards for film acting, including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Acting Ensemble in past Los Angeles 24-hr film festivals. Matthew currently serves as the bass quartet member and baritone soloist at La Canada Congregational Church. When he is not performing, Matthew works as a freelance photographer, videographer, and audio engineer, specializing in livestream production and concert recording, with credits including the LA Phil, the New York Metropolitan Opera, and multiple Grammy award-winning musical artists.
