Emma Ginzel

Southern California-based mezzo-soprano Emma Ginzel has performed leading roles in opera, including Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, The Gingerbread Witch in Hansel und Gretel, and Mrs. Jones in Street Scene. She has been a studio artist with Angels Vocal Art, the International Performing Arts Institute, and the Vienna Summer Music Festival.

Emma holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine, where she specialized in female composers and underrepresented languages, and a Bachelor of Music from Point Loma Nazarene University.

A versatile concert artist, Emma has soloed with the Point Loma Choral Union in The Messiah and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, as well as with the Point Loma Nazarene University Orchestra. She is an active chorister having sung with the Verdi Chorus, Long Beach Camerata Singers, and Pacific Chorale, and regularly performs in Southern California with Pacific Lyric Association, Opera Ala Carte, and the Opera Wednesday concert series.
