Patrick Tsoi-A-Sue
Tenor
Patrick Tsoi-A-Sue is a musician from the LA area. He started his musical career as a child, in Trinidad where he found his voice. His mother’s side of the family was musically enriched and they would perform around the country in different shows. Occasionally, he would participate in these performances at a young age. In the year 2000, he and his family moved from Trinidad saying goodbye to all of the family and friends they had known to live in the United States. Ever since landing in the United States, Patrick has had to rediscover his love for music.
After graduating High School, music was the last possible option. Patrick did everything in his power to avoid music but was eventually forced to come to terms that music was the career path for him. After six years at Pasadena City College he finally transferred to California State University Long Beach (CSULB) for a double major in Vocal Performance, and Music Education. He graduated CSULB in 2016 and then earned his Single-Subject Music Credential in 2018.
Ever since graduating CSULB Patrick has spent some time as an individual voice instructor as well as a teacher/substitute teacher in the classroom. He hopes that his students gain resilience and develop a healthy relationship with their voices.
He has also been performing with various groups. The most recent to least being: San Francisco Opera, Tonality, Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Master Chorale, and Long Beach Camerata Singers. He has enjoyed his enriching experiences with each of these groups and hopes to continue growing with them. He is excited to be a part of the Voices of Terpsichor community as they will continue to enrich his musical career with new musical experiences.
